Pros

Pay — but ultimately not worth it. Nothing else that i can think of.

Cons

Working at Reed Smith, and on the Private Equity team supporting a leader at the firm, was the worst experience in my 30+ year career. Zero work-life balance. Don’t expect anyone to care if you are bullied or lied to or about and trust no one! The manager and team/firm leader are impossible to please and you will end up getting no support from management no matter what. 5+ people left/were fired from the 6 person team in a 4 month period in 2023. Save your career and take another job! I wish I had.

Pros

Some lovely people in the organization. Benefits pretty good.

Cons

Bullies get away with bad behavior (both bullies who are lawyers and those who are staff). Favoritism allows lazy people to keep their jobs. Low paying. The firm is constantly looking for ways to take people’s jobs away while touting they care about us. This applies to all job positions. No one ever feels secure in their job. Not a great way to live.
