Pros

- WFH possible - Great colleagues: The team is composed of talented individuals who are unfortunately not listened to

Cons

- Inexperienced and disrespectful management: The management team lacks experience and respect, frequently changing their minds. They are more concerned with their egos than making decisions. The top management is manipulative, often telling employees what they want to hear but then doing the opposite. - Frequent restructurings: There is a new restructuring every 6 months to a year, which offers no stability. - No career growth: There are no prospects for advancement, and roles and responsibilities are constantly changing. - Problem with the CEO: The CEO is toxic, always convinced he is right and never open to debate. He openly criticizes other team members, and anyone who dares to voice their opinion risks being fired. The HR team does nothing to stop this. - Repetitive issues: There is no learning from past mistakes, leading to the same problems recurring. - Mental pressure: Many teams face immense mental pressure with regularly impossible deadlines. - False international image: The company claims to be international but is fundamentally Taiwanese, with previously acquired benefits disappearing one by one. If you are a regular employee, you will never be heard or respected. - Unaddressed team issues: Specific teams cause problems, and despite numerous complaints, nothing is done to address these issues. These teams are more focused on competing rather than working together. - Unfulfilled promises: Promised changes have been pending for months, but nothing changes. Everyone fears the CEO and top management.

Pros

The team is great and there are many great talents in the middle management, both among the Taiwanese and the international colleagues.

Cons

You'll find yourself to work in an environment, where the upper management tells you clearly that you're expandable and replaceable. The company has a very intense culture problem, which manifests itself as a cancer that grows right out of the CEO office. The CEO is man, who tries to assert authority by yelling in meetings, publicly shaming current and former employees and firing employees if they dare to raise criticism. There is also no clear strategy, when it comes to fostering and retaining talent. I believe this is a direct result of the thought, that everyone is replaceable. The contempt the upper management shows for its employees, leads to quiet quitting and an army of people who do the absolute minimum to keep their jobs, while looking for better opportunities. Aside from employees the company also shows a strong disregard for partners and competitors, which makes it difficult to represent the company in most capacities with a clear conscience.

Pros

Tight knit group of international employees, nice office environment in Taipei, lots of holiday events (yay free food).

Cons

Refers to itself as an “international company” when in fact it’s just a local company selling overseas. Chased off the senior manager that allowed it to enter foreign markets. Upper management out of touch with reality while most of junior management only has position because new hires that joined after them allowed them to rise in ranks. Upper management lacks basic communication skills with highlights such as “The company isn’t a charity”, “If you don’t like it, then you can leave”, and “make RHINOSHIELD great again.” While loudly stating transparency is the new company policy, CEO directly lies when asked about incredibly high sales targets that he himself forced upon all markets. Opinions and feedback from lower level employees is also ignored and forced to go through a hierarchy of censorship. CEO/upper management personally reduced annual performance scores of employees he’s never communicated with. Actively taking part in “quiet firing” work culture. Initiated a very expensive 6+ month long corporate standardization project that resulted in non-standardized salaries, raises and bonuses for similar positions. When asked to provide baseline salary for transparency, was told management will not disclose figures because it’s confidential, all while forbidding employees from discussing compensation. As it stands there’s no reason to continue working for this company if things don’t take an immediate change.
