I have been working at SAP Concur full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Work life balance, collaborative, fun people, supportive, autonomous, world class technology, market leader, continuing growth and subsequent career development opportunities.

    Cons

Lack of systematic career planning process, poor customer experience for smaller clients leads to stress for employees, benefits are not competitive with other leaders in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Generally please keep up the good work but we really need to do better with our customer service at scale and fix up benefits for non-US employees!

I worked at SAP Concur full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great product which should sell itself
    - flexibility to work from home at times.
    - Nice office fit out since moving to SAP.
    -Incentive trips overseas

    Cons

    - Plenty of office politics, with groups of people on the in, keeping you on the outer. This effected the results as you rely on other teams.
    - People talk behind your back to management
    - Customer territory allocations were incorrect making you ask questions
    - Lack of support from different teams for new staff

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your staff

I worked at SAP Concur full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Huge focus on individuals and culture
    - Great entry level salary
    - Good stepping stone for fresh graduates
    - Flat hierarchy: Open-door policy for big bosses
    - Career opportunities, depending on role and achievements

    Cons

    - Internal politics: present at any workplace
    - Some signs of favouritism: some managers cannot differentiate between preferential treatment and truthfully earned treatment
    - Growing company: culture may become difficult to maintain in the future
    - Ever-growing targets can make it more difficult to achieve. Normal for any business

    Advice to Management

Mental health is not actively promoted.

I worked at SAP Concur full-time

    Pros

HQ in Seattle, trips to USA a benefit. Great support outside of team. Great working external channels.

    Cons

Poor management at team level. No trust within team. A lot of watch your back required without support of manager. Unless you're on the inside team.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employee side, not just what a manager might believe. There are always two sides, act fairly.

I worked at SAP Concur (More than a year)

    Pros

Product really sells itself. It's a market leader. Salary and compensation is acceptable, reasonable targets, WFH, etc etc.

    Cons

Culture. Or lack thereof. Very silo'd, no sense of team with the exception of a small few.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of useless middle management, bring in people with passion.

I have been working at SAP Concur full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Good earning potential if you work hard, fantastic bonuses
    - Pretty cool culture and fun group of people, it's a work hard play hard environment
    - Train their employees well
    - Fantastic CRM and best in class products
    - SAP is a fantastic company

    Cons

    - Too many internal politics, you will only go places in this company if you perform at 100% of target and get in with the right people across a variety of countries and business units
    - Be prepared to work very hard and sacrifice a lot of your personal time
    - Had no development plan or career path, too many people in the same jobs for years
    - You MUST hit your sales quota each month and every month, NO excuses
    - Too many people screening the CRM all day
    - Lack of support across business units once the customer goes live

    Advice to Management

    - Stop placing your talented people in the trenches and start acknowledging their personal attributes and industry experience

I worked at SAP Concur full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing product, best in the market and sales leadership is very intelligent. I learnt endless amounts about how to negotiate through a software sales process

    Cons

Culture can be sterile and it was noticeable how things were changing since the SAP purchase.

    Advice to Management

Keep the culture and improve the social aspect.

I have been working at SAP Concur full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent training, fun team. High standards. Honest and reliable in paying commissions.

    Cons

Sales territories were constantly being diluted whilst targets were increasing. A great explanation as to why they burn through sales staff at an alarming rate.
    Piddly small deal sizes.

    Advice to Management

Focus on people to fix the reputation of burning them - that explains all of the grey hair in here
