Pros

Good if you like a boys club atmosphere and want to keep your head down. I was lucky enough to have an open and honest line of communication with my supervisors.

Cons

I wouldn’t recommend STM to anyone that has self respect and is looking for any growth within a company. Absolute definition of a boys club, and your feedback may seem to be wanted, but it’s not. The COO is a complete hot head and has a major lack of empathy for the US employees he oversees, and only cares about money. The lack of communication across departments, especially continents, is difficult as they are very divided. The morale is low and the vibe is tense after losing majority of the marketing team, along with those who the COO just didn’t like/vocalized opinions. The work from home policy is absurd. Since it is an international company, communicating via Zoom was occurring pre-covid, and many top level execs (favorites) along with a handful of other US employees are allowed to work remote. I wish I listened to my gut when first interviewing with the annoying recruiter and ran for the hills then. No 401k, high cost health benefits, no real HR, and no early release during holidays.

Pros

Good co-workers at production level I progressed creatively and worked on some interesting projects - but that was on my own

Cons

Leadership was bafflingly directionless Scope of business and roadmap unclear and persistently meandering Leadership constantly touts this small business as being like a "family" but cuts workers on a whim Continuous firings even though they say they never fire Fired whole teams (who were already furloughed) in the middle of a pandemic, leaving them without healthcare No salary increases - you're expected to take what you start with or whatever salary increases initially outlined in your contract, no more No working from home, ever, though some "special" people are exempt from this Management keeps hiring people and firing them shortly after - as if they hire too quickly or don't ask the right questions or don't have them demonstrate their abilities adequately - everyone else is shut out of the process. Boys club - top management values those who can entertain them the best rather than who produces

Pros

Great group of employees that are willing to help each other out to achieve what is best for the company.

Cons

Most employees wear a lot of hats (duties) and some of these duties are pushed on them because of lack of staffing. Some of these duties don't best fit the employees skills sets are time during the day to complete the task well. Also sometimes there is to many chiefs trying to make a good decision.
