Everyone is friendly but there is a culture of overwork and burnout being the norm.

Pros

The pay tends to be good for the sector, the people are friendly and everyone is passionate but drained.

Cons

Culture of overwork, lots of hard deadlines and poor communication and support from managers. There are too many meetings, issues with staffing, issues with respecting boundaries and reports of a triggering workplace for survivors as the stress and pressure to meet deadlines is not indicative of a trauma informed environment. Agree with former comment that "Senior staff do not see this [Burnout and overwork] as a fundamental flaw in planning and decision making and instead see it as a superficial wellbeing issue."

The regular staff here are lovely. They work hard and are kind to each other. The senior team are awful.

Cons

The most senior staff here do not take care of their staff. Staff continuously raise concerns about burnout and are told to 'fill their cup' before they try to help others. Senior staff do not see this as a fundamental flaw in planning and decision making and instead see it as a superficial wellbeing issue. If you are from a marginalised group I would stay well away. They are not good at understanding how work can/should look for disabled people and everything related to this is pushed through basic HR processes with no training for managers or supportive managerial processes.
