Pros

Cons

Three large industry leading organizations were merged together about 5-6 years ago. Since then, they don’t seem to be able to steer the boat. Consultants and mid-managers work extremely long hours under incredible stress for a very low salary. Just to learn, that at the end of the year, even their bonuses are withdrawn. Yes, we haven’t seen our bonuses for ages! Of course, upper management did. That applies to salary raise too. Recently, there have been big changes in upper management. Lots of new people were hired with absolutely no industrial experience. This could be a refreshing idea on a smaller scale, however, when all of the heads are clueless, that is a threat. Since the company is unable to pay decent salaries, lots of consultants and mid-managers get also hired with no previous experience. You can imagine the struggle and strain that gives to team members for those couple of years until their team members actually learn their job completely on their own by trial and error. Because they only learn by experience, thrown into deep water, doing and failing. There is no such as training. The company does not invest into people, only exploits. Then they get surprised that accounts get lost, quality drops, boat is sinking. Atmosphere is terrible because of this total chaos. Employees are at each other’s throat all the time not only within offices but also across countries and regions. I have never seen such a dysfunctional organization before.
