Pros

Some nice coworkers that didn't last long.

Cons

This company is by the far the most immoral and abusive work place I have worked at in my life. It's all smoke and mirrors, they do not practice what they preach...which is women empowerment. In fact, most of the women who work there (excluding who ever is besties with the CEO) do not feel empowered, safe, fulfilled, or valued at this company. It's a shame, seeing as it's a Black woman owned company that actively recruits and exploits other Black and brown women to produce and advertise their cheaply made products. Do not bother going to HR either, they will not help because they are very close to those at the top. They prioritized profit over employee safety, as they did not allow people to work from home at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, including those who had duties that could be fulfilled at home. WFH privileges were also denied at times of inclement weather. Employees were threatened and punished if they did not come in or expressed discomfort with this policy. I was hired on the spot at my first interview and told I could start as early as the following week. When I came in the next week to meet the CEO, she essentially took back the job offer, asked me inappropriate questions (which I am fairly certain are illegal), and proceeded to create a test for me to see if I would "make the cut." I was later subject to verbal humiliation in front of coworkers by upper management. Management talks behind each others backs and consistently undermines each other. Gossip and jealousy is abundant among the leaders. The CEO is a textbook narcissist who believes every word she says, and is completely oblivious to the psychological abuse she enacts while touting women empowerment on social media. Or she knows and simply doesn't care...as long as she keeps her millionaire status. This company claims to be unique and industry leading -- but those in power lack industry knowledge and cannot train industry leading teams. This can very easily seem to be a fun and positive environment from the outside, but underneath the facade is a truly hostile work environment that takes a toll on your mental health. I was saddened to see other employees beaten down by the culture at this workplace. Most of the decent, nice people that come through their doors do not stay for long. It's disappointing to say the least -- what I anticipated to be a positive, educational, and creative environment was actually: disorganized, mismanaged, deceitful, stifling, and ill prepared to be the truly creative powerhouse it wants to be. Save yourself the trauma and extra therapy costs it will take to work here.

Pros

Black owned, woman owned, mostly women

Cons

Its a lot to share but overall my advice don't work here. As a manager I was task to do immoral and unethical and I believe quite a few things were illegal by the CEO of the company. It was a type of throw a stone and hide your hand. He could claim I acted alone when it was always done on his behest. Between the constant back stabbing and constant laughing in your face thing talking extremely badly about a person as soon as they leave was always disgusting. The owner and her husband are masters at presenting a certain face to the public but are greedy and ruthless. They want as much money as possible by any means necessary no matter the cost to employees mental health or customers pockets. The owner loves to "prove" how great of a leader she is and how she's all about sisterhood, when she will step on anyones neck absolutely ANYONES neck to get money. The culture is extremely toxic ( toxic is putting it nicely) even tho there are some great co-workers but they don't last. In the land of snakes nice people don't stay. Most of management hates each other but acts like they are besties like I just don't understand it. Everything you see about this company is fake from the extremely overpriced plastic jewelry to the owner and her family. And the psycho family at work. I will forever be changed from working here and not in a good way. From the constant back orders and shipping items halfway to customers to customers not being able to receive refunds after waiting MONTHS for items I don't understand how this business hasn't went under. Between the constant turnover constant customer issues that are ignored to greedy selfish owners its basically hell on earth. Long story short just DONT WORK HERE!!! I wish I never did, I was so excited to see a black woman start a business in her house and turn it into something thriving but only 3 months in I knew something wasn't right I wish I had left then, I just didn't know it would get this bad.

Pros

black owned/ woman owned, some great people

Cons

Owner is a narcissist, hires incompetent family members and give them positions of power, honestly don’t know how she’s keeps customers guess it’s just good marketing, cheap products customers wait forever for stuff, can’t get a refund, owner and husband are money hungry and will do whatever it takes to make a buck, including treating employees like crap, then throw food around as some bandaid for terrible working conditions
