Pros

- life/work balance frequently takes a pass on any work at all - beloved product provides enough inertia to continually miss deadlines and flub strategic initiatives - constant leadership turnover keeps things exciting - private equity overlords will probably make good on promise to "extract dollars" from cash-strapped school districts

Cons

- glacial development pace from amateur teams with little to no project planning - endless self-congratulation at every level of the company is exhausting - promotions are obviously more about DEI targets than merit or productivity - quarterly executive team junkets and gaudy all-company retreats amid benefit clawbacks and layoffs is cognitive dissonance for everyone

Pros

The company offers the typical array of startup benefits like unlimited PTO, generous parental leave, etc. They also have Mindfulness Fridays, which is a personal day on the first Friday of every month.

Cons

A new CEO came on board in May of 2023 and, as one would expect, is changing the direction of the company. While he said there wouldn't be layoffs, there were layoffs in July 2023 and likely more to come in Q4 2023. There is a big disconnect between the vision of the new leadership and the reality on the ground from the employees who have been there for years.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed our great benefits including unlimited PTO, 16 weeks of parental leave, and mindfulness first Fridays. We understand that organizational change can be both exciting and challenging, especially when new leaders join the team. We are fortunate to have new leaders with extensive experience in the edtech market. With this experience, we are certain their knowledge and vision will contribute to our ability to better serve both our customers and employees. The strategic changes we have made are part of our commitment to growth and improvement at Seesaw, ensuring we move forward as a stronger, adaptable team, that is well-positioned to make an impact in the K12 space. We will continue to encourage open communication and are dedicated to creating a transparent culture at Seesaw. If you have additional feedback you'd like to share, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly. Thank you, again.

Pros

Great Product, and loved by many educators. The product really does have an impact on learning!

Cons

Used to be an amazing company, but has been led down a path with the wrong leadership in place, and not sure if it can recover. Seesaw once had a great culture, but after experiencing rapid growth and income, they fell into the same pattern that most small companies experience. They grew too quickly, brought in too many executive leadership with too many agendas, and things got scrambled. They have since began the process of letting go of loyal employees, and employees who actually knew the value of Seesaw, and have put faith in the wrong leaders.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We appreciate your honesty and your willingness to be open about your frustrations. While we have certainly undergone change over the last year, we are confident in the direction of Seesaw. After experiencing years of rapid growth, we had to build strong organizational structures to accommodate this growth, and we are excited about what Seesaw can accomplish in 2023 with the vision of our leadership team. Maintaining and evolving our unique culture to suit the needs of our employees and business is always top of mind for us as we continue to grow. We care deeply about continuing to provide employees with different avenues to share their feedback about how we can continue to improve as a company through our company surveys, Q&A with leaders, and the built trust with direct managers. Thank you again – we wish you all the best.
