Unfortunately, the executives at this company only care about one thing, and that's money. Someone needs to remind them without your staff, your people, your team - there is no Skinkandy! This company is constantly described as a 'fast growing rocketship'....but this rocketship is about to combust and disintegrate into thin air at any point. When you're growing at such a fast rate, but don't have the processes, procedures, or a good, solid foundation in place, you will never be able to succeed, unfortunately. They say that 'People & Culture' are a priority, but culture cannot be created by the HR team. Culture rolls down from the top, and if the top execs care about nothing but money, that's what's going to trickle down..... The staff turnover here is higher than anywhere else I've ever worked. They can't get good, hardworking staff to stick around, because the pay is low, the respect from above is low, the organisation of EVERYTHING is terrible and staff are promoted out of necessity, meaning that you've essentially got the blind leading the blinder. New execs will grow this business at an alarmingly fast rate, just to sell it to investors who care even less, and then this company is going to fall to the ground. I'm glad I got out now.

Unfortunately, that is where the pro's end. You will either be fastracked through piercing training and be able to pierce everything on the list within 3 months, even if you don't feel ready, or comfortable, or your trainer will push your training to the side to focus on others instead, and you'll find yourself 6months down the line still only able to pierce lobes. I assume it's from upper management, but pushed by AM's and store managers, the importance of QUANITITY of piercings performed , rather than QUALITY. They expect you to pierce with rubbish jewellery, as they advertise 2 for $80 deals, so that's the price customers expect. When you convince customers to upgrade to better jewellery, they are then unhappy with extra costs. Huge lack of support and knowledge from higher ups, people who have no idea about piercing, compliance or actually working in store/clinic are making big decisions about the way we do things at a store level. Feel like the bottom of the barrel in this business. Pretty low pay considering the high-risk work we do, and no guarantee of hours for casual staff which makes it hard to keep a good team. Company is expanding too much yet doesn't have the support, resources or staff to sustain these new stores.
