Pros

The only pro I can think of is meeting some nice people, but you can meet good people anywhere else.

Cons

I don't even know where to start, as there are so many issues with So Energy, all of which I have personally raised with multiple managers and HR, but no action has been taken. Here is a list: - Aggressive management style that cascades down from upper management to direct line managers. - Being interrogated on design decisions and not trusted to do your own work; then, being asked to design things a certain way based on management's personal preferences and not on what is best for the user. - Women being paid 45% less than men in the same role with the same experience. - Unrealistic deadlines and demands, having to work simultaneously on multiple projects and teams, and being expected to work after hours with zero time for personal development. - A culture of blame, where designers are always held accountable for decisions made as a team or even by upper management. If you're looking for a place that will inspire you to progress and empower you to do your best work, So Energy is NOT the place for you.

Pros

The best line manager, colleagues (my fellow TLs) and team of agents. Collectively they were the reason I was able to stay in the company for as long as I did.

Cons

Either be prepared to be spineless and brown nose senior management, or don’t be a POC. Having flags plastered around the room doesn’t equate to being a fair employer. Everything is performative and a tick box exercise. The diversity preached about is restricted to the lower level positions within the company - your potential to grow within the company is capped. A POC will never have the same opportunities handed to them as a non - POC. If you have opinions, care about people or have self respect, you won’t be successful here unfortunately. But if you don’t mind being a doormat then go figure. Address the negative reviews and rectify the issues you’ve caused, rather than flooding glassdoor with fake reviews to protect your reputation - it’s obvious and it’s nauseating.

Toxic environment

Pros

The only positive is the people within customer service

Cons

The most toxic work environment, created by tone deaf senior management Agents and SCOA are overworked, overwhelmed, underpaid, and understaffed. Management act oblivious to the issues we have all raised time and time again but were ignored - they only now are taking an ‘interest’ as the toxic working environment is affecting their performance stats. It’s evident not even our Head of gets a say in the matter. Everyone is just a puppet… They’ll harp on in company meetings about your mental health and that they ‘care’ - please understand that this HR only care about protecting their own reputation and do not care for your wellbeing in the slightest. Nobody wants insincere apologies in company meetings - people have wanted to be heard but we’re simply gaslit or given political answers, brushing the issues under the rug in the diabolical Friday Q and A. It’s not a surprise that retention isn’t just poor within customer service but operations too - So Energy has failed across the board.
