Pros

None. The only good thing I can think of is that I will soon be able to move on to a different employer.

Cons

LIES. Don't believe a word they say about anything. In my interview HR stated that I everyone gets a 3% raise and possibly a merit raise on top of that annually. There have been 2 raises in 11 years. They only want YES people and not anyone who might have an idea. Management gives themselves raises by changing their job titles. Managers/supervisors are very unprofessional. People do not stay at ST Louis County. The pay is not a living wage. Training is non existent.

Pros

Great benefits, decent pay, work on both civil and criminal litigation as well as transactional law

Cons

The morale may the county counselor office is horrendous - no opportunity for promotion/raises unless someone above you leaves; no staff meetings; supervisors have NO idea what younger attorneys do Or what their workload is like; any type of socialization with colleagues during the day is HIGHlY frowned upon - from group lunches to coffee breaks. Finally the office has been short at least 2 attorneys for a year and the bosses don’t seem to care what this does to the workload of the younger/newer attorneys Bosses don’t know nor do they care what their employees are going through

Pros

Great PTO policy & work/life balance, Low performance standards, Some cheap benefits, Can get promoted if you wipe the right butt, Perfect environment for those who want to be guardians of obsolescence.

Cons

Stifling culture, Widespread "oh well" employee mindset carried on by a sea of illiterate pension slaves, Absent, unqualified, and dishonest senior management, Nonexistent elected executive leadership only focused on maneuvering and the next election, an "all are equal but some are more equal", style society dependent on race, gender, and age, 2 raises in my 10 years, a "guilty until proven innocent" orientation on new ideas and people.
