If you value a workplace where trust, emotional safety, work/life balance, clear communication, growth, and/or your expertise is valued, I would recommend giving serious thought before accepting an offer or signing their non-compete contact.
The non-compete contract is a notable aspect joining Ginger, especially in light of the company’s limited efforts to retain talent beyond this *legal* restriction. The frequently witnessed mention of the executives' ability to pursue legal action against employees who break this non-compete contract is a constant reminder of the constraints placed on professional mobility and contributes to a feeling of hopelessness.
The work culture is characterized by high pressure to meet/exceed billable targets, constant employee turnover, a lack of regard for team capacity, inability to meet client expectations/timelines based on last minute interference by the CEO, and an extreme lack of trust… I could go on.
Despite efforts to rebrand or introduce new policies, these changes felt superficial, as the core issues within the company’s culture remain unaddressed.
In my time at Ginger I was made to feel small over and over until I started to believe it myself. My mental health was beaten down and eventually used against me in an effort to control and silence me. I have seen it happen to myself and to my friends/colleagues.
I’m sharing this review in hopes that it provides insight to others who might be considering joining Ginger. It’s important to be fully aware of the true environment you’re stepping into.
