Began as a home setting and is now a licensed assisted living. Spends a lot of time on meetings. A ton of gossip and backstabbing. Despite a lot of talk about diversity and inclusion the executive team and board are almost entirely white and none with shared experience to those they are serving. There was also a lot of talk about supporting staff during the tough covid year but it didn’t extend to all staff. So for some we made accommodations and others not at all. I was on short term disability when I found I was demoted by seeing my job title changed on our website, a week later I had been locked out of email and then I was fired. The board chair promised to have a conversation with me as he had sat down with every other employee and was sending out secret reviews on some staff but not all. That never happened. I have three different versions of a termination letter. While setting a date and time to clean out my office I was suddenly told they did it and then they rolled my belongings out of the building for me to pick up. Told the person over HR at the time of upsetting racial comments made in an executive team meeting and nothing was ever done about it. They have claimed some people have died in their care that have not. If you are looking to work for a company, this is your place, it is very business oriented. For some that is important, but if you are passionate about serving people you will meet many barriers in serving people in a meaningful way without putting them through a litany of questions that will possibly set them back but can secure more ways to bring in money. Needs of the staff to feel good overrule what is best for the clients.
