Pros

Great, smart people on the ground floor. Exciting, dynamic work. Decent salaries, great parties. I trust that the company is going to keep going places.

Cons

Over the last few months, I've watched a lot of great people — especially women — leave. These are smart, brilliant, hard-working people who have helped build departments & do really great work. They leave because they are overworked, underappreciated, and constantly put down by senior male managers. I used to think the company was genuinely interested in promoting equality. I'm not really convinced any more. We have one woman in senior management, but that's it, and the lack of women being promoted internally is glaringly obvious. Meanwhile, a couple of guys get all the resources, all the promotions, and all the praise.

Pros

I read that a toxic workplace is more likely to change you than you are to change it - fortunately I got out of this toxic environment with minimal damage.

Cons

Career Growth: this one is absent regardless of all the hours you work, all the money you make the company, if you’re not willing to forgo your morals and pander to fragile male egos it doesn’t happen fast, maybe not at all, regardless of how amazing your performance is; Bureaucracy: it’s rife throughout and unavoidable, and having experienced a few workplaces I can safely say that it nears untold heights at TDS, with merit measured only on your ability to massage the ego of the person at the top; Leadership: interaction with c-level employees is increasingly being shied away from, probably for the best. Have an idea? No point in saying it, it’ll get brushed away until someone senior says it verbatim and it’s lapped up by his lackeys as the greatest thing since sliced bread. I could go on, but I think the other reviews accurately depict the harsh reality of working in this department.
