Pros

- Competitive salary -- to offset the emotional toll. - Generous mental health benefits -- a necessity, not a perk.

Cons

- After realizing they couldn’t remove negative reviews, management began incentivizing employees to leave (false) positive ones to bury the honest criticisms. I wouldn't be surprised if they even asked for screenshots of these so-called “anonymous” reviews. - Employees are now expected to engage with the company’s social media posts using their personal accounts. Failure to do so reportedly factors into performance reviews — a concerning blurring of personal and professional boundaries. - If you're looking for a workplace where merit takes a back seat to ego-stroking and aligning with ethically questionable leadership opinions, this might unfortunately be the place.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We value all feedback—both positive and critical—as it helps us reflect, grow, and improve as an organization. We want to clarify that any company receiving reviews on this platform is subject to the platform’s terms of service, which clearly state that reviews cannot be removed once posted. We fully support this policy, as it ensures transparency and integrity in the review process. If leaders within our organization are encouraging team members to leave reviews, we expect that to be done with the best of intentions—to foster open dialogue and continuous improvement. It is essential that any feedback shared is authentic and aligned with the individual’s own values. We would never want anyone to express something they do not genuinely believe, and such actions would never influence, nor should they influence, performance evaluations. We appreciate your input and will consider it as we continue to work toward a fully supportive and respectful workplace.

Pros

Company provide a lot of Trainings for more knowledge but they don’t follow their own guidelines

Cons

Once you get into a position where you have to raise your voice for any concern you find is not appropriate in workplace. You will see true faces of leaders , partners of company, company’s own made policies changes . No one will give you a hand to help Everyone will take a step back No help No plan for employee safety You work more but will get no extra reward but people who play games on work desk will get more rewards than you . You be good with Sr leaders you will be saved . If not than all are against you . It’s wierd politics in the company . CEO might don’t know what is happening in the company coz he don’t go to branches . He should see How leaders do in branches. Western is way different than what their own policies says & what they actually do .they will throw blame on you . Salary wise again it depends on leader again . They decide who get who . People who are highly educated like full CAIB are getting less than or equals to less qualified or like no CAIB . When I ask from leaders they said I am not supposed to be discussing even-though all discuss openly.

Pros

I have been with Western Financial Group for several years, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The company offers a fantastic work culture that fosters collaboration, innovation, and professional growth. Management genuinely cares about you and is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment. There are lots of opportunities for advancement, and there are always avenues to grow within the company. In addition to the great culture, the perks and benefits are top-notch. From competitive salaries to comprehensive health benefits, they really take care of their employees. The company also provides generous vacation time, flexible working arrangements, and other perks that help maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Cons

Honestly, there aren’t many downsides to working here. One of the few downside would be that, like many insurance brokerages, the systems and technology could be improved and be more streamlined between all branches and departments. (Which is in the works but not an easy thing to get done quickly with a large company)

We're really glad that you find Western’s culture rewarding and supportive, especially given our renewed focus on establishing a collaborative and innovative workplace. You will have heard about the new CRM system in the recent strategy session, which should address any inefficiencies experienced by our frontline team members, and Western appreciates the patience and understanding everyone is displaying as we make these enhancements. Thank you for your insightful comments and your dedication to our continued growth and success.

Good benefits, terrible salary, hopeless opportunities

Pros

Standard benefits package with added mental health support. Typical RRSP matching. Good sick day policy.

Cons

Very little opportunities for growth. Below average pay. Raises are extremely small and do not account for a person's contributions, seniority, or the current high cost of living. Management likes to give themselves a pat on the back for offering competitive wages, but don't offer any higher wages to show they are competitive. Only real way to grow is to leave the company.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your honesty and value your perspective as a long-term employee. We're pleased to hear that you find the benefits package, which include 14 Personal days and mental health support beneficial. We understand your concerns about compensation and we agree that it is crucial for companies to stay on top of this aspect. We recently introduced an improved compensation philosophy after a thorough review, which addresses your points around pay for performance/contributions, if your leader hasn't yet provided any insight into these enhancements, please touch base with them. A priority for Western in 2025 is to make the growth opportunities more transparent for everyone. We want everyone to feel like they have equal access to the internal opportunities. Achieving this will require participation from all parties to ensure that individuals who aspire to career growth achieve their goals. Thank you again for sharing your perspective into life at Western.

Pros

• Value employees • Great team dynamic • Involvement with senior management • Employee recognition • Benefits/Salary • Professional growth WFG exemplifies its guiding principles, particularly in its commitment to valuing employees. My experience has been that the company fosters an exceptionally welcoming environment. I received multiple messages from team members extending their greetings and support. Additionally, within my first two weeks, I had the opportunity to meet with both the director and the vice president of our department, who took the time to introduce themselves and formally welcome me to the team. I have been employed by organizations where I had limited or no interaction with senior management. The company places a strong emphasis on recognition. Employees can participate in peer-to-peer recognition through an online platform, and senior management is actively engaged in acknowledging staff accomplishments, achievements, and even celebrating their birthdays. At the beginning of my career with WFG, I promptly received my equipment along with a thoughtful welcome gift. The benefits package is highly competitive, featuring market-driven salaries, three weeks of vacation, and two weeks designated for wellness days. Additionally, the company provides fully paid health and dental insurance. There is significant potential for professional growth in my current position. Upon my hiring as a team lead, it was communicated that the intention is for me to progress into a management role in the near future. The organization has been actively supporting my development by providing opportunities to enhance my skills relevant to that position.

Cons

Similar to many organizations, there is limited communication between departments, which often results in a prevailing mentality of "we do not that here" mentality.
