Nice co-workers Great to now have Hospitalists.

Cons

OPERS WAS a great plus to work there. Not anymore. They are gradually decreasing benefits RN’s on Med-Surg HORRIBLY understaffed. VERY ill patients. VERY dangerous to patient’s lives. Too much direct basic patient care thrown on them. Workload horrible. Rarely get lunch/supper break. Need more PCA’s to do basic care. Try any way to get rid of older seasoned RN’s. They are hiring new naive young nurses to be molded and taken advantage of. Patients could be in great danger due to lack of critical thinking skills.

OPERS retirement/sick time/vacation, great working with patients and their families.

Cons

They tend to work as a click, no real room for growth, they won't let you use your sick time and are inflexible with adjusting scheduling for the employee. Money drivin but a nonprofit facility. The will ask you to donate your money back to their hospital so it looks like the employees are supportive of them. They have way to many meetings and micromanage worker. They are all to happy to give special treatment to rich patients, but if your poor your care will also be poor.

Pros

Fair wages, good treatment, great benefits! Nice community hospital. Still privately owned and friendly. Staff is great. Doctors are great. I feel expectations were to give excellent patient care and that all staff does that!

Cons

As with all hospitals they are open 24/7, so the hours can be rough. Also, can lose hours related to slow census at times, but done very fairly through rotation. Also have opportunity for picking up hours during heavy census times.
