Pros

Fantastic culture: a decent blend of ambition, learning, great people, good work-life balance. Lots of opportunity to go out and shape your role. Great support around learning and development and the management is very high quality. Feedback is listened to and acted on. People are fantastic and lots of stuff going on outside the normal day job if you want to get involved. Lots of flexibility: always space and people in the office, but can work from home when desired too.

Cons

Been here 3 years and the only one i can think of is that the dog doesn't give me enough attention

Pros

The wider team at Xelix were friendly, some colleagues were always friendly and helpful when asked. You are definitely surrounded by bright people with lots of ideas. I also thought that weekly roundups were a good idea and a good way to see what was working and what wasn't. Teams are always happy to work with one another, and couldn't critique the values of the company as a whole.

Cons

The sales team however, felt different. There was definitely favoritism in the way that some employees would get more help than others. Not enough help from management throughout my time at the company. Recognition of achievement or for anything done well was few and far between, never received shout outs when others would for similar achievements made. Anything brought up in 1:1 meetings wasn't really addressed except if it was just based on your targets that you had to reach, not if it was something that you required for development. Did not have enough time to learn about the industry you are selling into or even what the platform is before you have to sell it, this poses issues when difficult questions are asked. There were also times where promising conversations were had with clients and you arranged for a follow-up call on the phone and not a meeting, to learn more if they were busy or needed to jump off, this was viewed as a failure. I have an example where a senior member of staff met a client I had a good conversation with two days later at a conference and did not want to initially give credit for a demo they had booked in, even though they knew Xelix because of my outreach. I had planned to call them another day when they had a chance to digest the information. I didn't think this was supporting junior members of staff who are learning sales and have spent hours working the account and prospecting the people. I was only given this lead back when emails sent were ignored, so I had to call them and get them back on which I did. Due to what I have described I felt disgruntled in the role and expressed this to management who said they would support me and work on it with me. After having annual leave and I came back in on the Monday to be told I was being let go. The previous month I was very close to reaching target and had no concern expressed in a 1:1 meeting the week before this happened. Other members of the team hadn't reached target either and are still there now. It felt unfair at the time because I was honest that I was struggling, instead of talking it through I was abruptly told I had to leave. It was a shame as I worked very hard in this role to just feel depressed going into work and like I hadn't achieved anything, even though I had some big deals for the company proposed, it was not acknowledged.
