Pros

Great driver pay Inside gym Free coffee Good vacation time

Cons

Transportation department is awful Sales is more valued than the drivers delivering the product Terrible health benefits Cameras are on you every single minute of the day, in truck, in building, outside of building Have to explain every second of your overtime worked for it to be approved There is so much safety that employees get hurt It’s like pulling teeth to get your days off approved Bonus is great but they take more and more of it away a year. They hate sharing the profits with the actual workers Micromanaging at its finest

Complete Micromanagement

Pros

Can usually leave early on Friday if you have overtime. The branch managers are all nice guys.

Cons

Where to begin…Everything is micromanaged, everything. Departments at HQ always have something negative to say about something. Whether it is about an order where they wanted you to make more money, you didn’t charge enough for cutting or god forbid you took an order for too much stock. All upper management cares about is margin, they no longer care about lasting relationships. They want to screw customers on small orders but then turn around and expect those same customers to give us their business on larger orders. The bonus program is nice but twice in three years they have lowered the pay because we “made too much money”. The sales team is the leading force behind a company’s profit and we get punished for making too much. Overtime pay has also been taken away. You are allowed to punch in two minutes early, but you can stay as late as you want. So every morning people wait in the parking lot until 7:58. How much sense does that make? Friday, if you have too many hours you have to leave. Even when you still have quotes and orders to enter, you have to punish the customer by making them wait until Monday. Work/Life balance is also non existent. We are treated like high school students rather than working professionals. Need to come in late one day for personal reasons? Make sure you make up those hours. Feel sick and want to work at home so you don’t get other’s sick? No chance, they can’t control and watch you while you are home.

Mixed feelings

Pros

A lot of amenities; on-site gym, beautiful building, fresh coffee made all day, nap rooms, homemade lunch specials made by the ladies in "The Ladle" (fairly inexpensive) Great pay, generally good culture/atmosphere, no smoking on premises.

Cons

Once the company was sold by the original owners, to a bigger corporation from California, the "family culture" changed. It just got worse every year as far as becoming more and more "Corporate". The management team is very close and have all known each other since high school which results in some favoritism. HR dept likes to gossip about people's personal business. The CEO has a strange outlook/vision on what he wants the company to be, and instead of doing what has worked since the business started, he is changing everything and it has shown to hurt the company. The morale of the employees has shown a significant decrease. Many people have quit and when someone quits, the CEO would rather try not to replace the person, instead they make other employees do the job of 2 people. I heard many employees state being "sick of being overworked and under appreciated"
