Pros

Decent health insurance that’s about it

Cons

Working at Hims & Hers has been a soul-crushing experience filled with favoritism, unchecked bullying, and the constant fear of unjust termination. From day one, it was glaringly obvious that certain employees were treated as golden children while the rest of us were left to fend for ourselves. Promotions, raises, and perks are handed out not based on merit, but on who was buddy-buddy with the higher-ups. It has created an atmosphere of resentment and disillusionment among those of us who actually worked hard and excelled in our roles. Even worse is the rampant bullying and microaggressions that management has turned a blind eye to. Instead of addressing toxic behavior head-on, they sweep it under the rug, allowing bullies to run rampant and make the lives of their victims a living hell. HR was useless, offering nothing more than empty promises and lip service while the harassment continued unchecked. And if you dared to speak up or rock the boat in any way, you could kiss your job goodbye. Hims & Hers had no qualms about firing employees without just cause, using flimsy excuses to get rid of anyone who dared to challenge the status quo. Loyalty means nothing to them, and neither does fairness or justice. In conclusion, working at Hims & Hers is a nightmare I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. If you value your mental health, your dignity, and your career, steer clear of this toxic cesspool masquerading as a workplace.

A Cautionary Tale: My Experience at Hims & Her

Pros

Getting to work from home

Cons

Working at Hims & Hers was, the lowest point in my professional journey. Before joining, I prided myself on my resilience, passion for my career, and self-assurance. However, the toxic environment at this company shattered my mental health, leaving me with depression and anxiety. The thought of interviewing elsewhere fills me with such dread that I often cancel, feeling utterly unworthy. The culture here is governed by strong personalities, with leadership's egos obstructing real progress. Rather than addressing processes that require improvement, these leaders target individualism, fostering a culture of blame and fear. This has created an environment where the blame is disproportionately placed on entry-level or front-line employees for the systemic issues, absolving senior management of any responsibility, Promotion and career advancement are not merit-based but contingent on whether you are a favorite with senior leadership. If you're in the inner circle, opportunities are abundant. Conversely, if you find yourself out of favor, your days at the company are numbered, regardless of your contributions or potential. The experience has been a profound session on the importance of a supportive and healthy work environment. I caution anyone considering a position at Hims & Hers to think carefully about its impact on your mental health and overall well-being.

Great people, horrible management

Pros

The people I worked with are great. I found friends and felt like the team was absolutely crushing it. The company mission is also something I felt everybody could get behind which made the work great.

Cons

My issues are solely regarding upper management, specifically in the marketing department which fell under the CFO. There were no internal promotions even though employees significantly outperformed their set goals. While the company says they promote diversity, that did not apply to leadership roles. All of the promotions were given to predominately white men from outside the company when many current employees of various minority groups could have filled the spot. The part that hurts the most is that leadership roles were not even disclosed to us so we had no chance to even throw our names in for consideration. This occurred multiple times even after we brought up these issues to management. I would 100% work with my coworkers again but would never come back to this company under the current leadership.
