Pros

Ability to work remotely, nice colleagues to commiserate with

Cons

-Employees are grossly overworked and in some departments it is expected of you to be working well into the late evening hours (I overheard my manager say the reason to pass on a qualified candidate was that the candidate seemed traditional and would expect work to end at 6, as opposed to 4-6 hours later than that like the rest of us) -Not only are employees not valued nor invested in (forget about ever getting a raise here or developing a plan to advance your career), but I saw colleagues from 3 different departments illegally fired in my time there (somehow it makes more sense to pay settlements to people the company sees as unproductive to go away than to reward those who are doing good work) -Senior management prefers to focus on making Numa look like trendy and successful by sinking incredible amounts of money into "sexy" rebranding and millions into acquiring competitors rather than investing in better softwares and processes to improve the necessary operational parts of the business (and also the quality of life of the people doing those jobs) - reckless and unsustainable -From day one you will be on your own to figure things out because there is no onboarding to speak of and everyone around you is so overworked you will struggle to get help; the company is fully remote but does not have the processes/documentation/communication structures in place to support this so you will feel especially lost -Employees have either been there for over 2 years and have settled into the broken system/don't notice it anymore or have been there for 2 months and are naively thinking it will eventually get better -Entire departments are collapsing and there is a good chance you will be hired to do a job that was previously done by 2 people (but don't expect double pay!) -Do not think that you can make any impactful changes here, Numa is fundamentally broken and will take you down with it

Pros

A lot of kind colleagues to work with.

Cons

Where to even start? Numa is a nightmare company with a toxic environment. Over the past year, the finance team has seen a significant turnover, with six employees leaving their positions, yet no actions have been taken to address this issue or improve the situation. Additionally, management has been replacing experienced managers with lower-budget hires. Some employees tried to speak to the HR department about the issues, but they were useless. They were careless about the culture, growth, and compensation of the employees. There has been no actual support from the Head of People and Head of Talent, even in team situations in which it was so much needed. They have no idea about the required roles for new hires and also about the distribution of the salaries. The new hires are going to earn significantly more than the employees who have been there for a year or two. There is 0 appreciation for employees who have been in the company for a while. When I spoke about this with the HR department, they started gossiping about the employees. They were such bullies.
