Pros

Free meal on shift As part time I was able to have alot of leave off whenever I wanted as long as it had enough notice which made it a very flexible job for university and travelling Good internal progression

Cons

Not reliable shift patterns, some weeks you’re doing only 16 hours spread over 4 evenings which just wastes your free time for little pay Unreliable hours, some weeks I’d have 20+ as part time then others it would be 1 shift

Pros

Free food Decent co workers

Cons

Low pay Inappropriate manager comments (especially to younger staff-race/sexualisation) Poor communication Unorganised shifts (don’t follow their own policies) No training Extremely poor management (half go on hour long breaks/leave you to do their work/don’t fully count overtime) Emails aren’t answered Expect a phone call over being 2 minutes late but don’t call over last minute shift changes and/or staying late Numerous days of no prep work done in the morning leads to stressful working periods with extra work and complaints from FOH managers
