Does KPMG offer massages?

Pros

KPMG tries very hard to give its employees good benefits, like on site massages and free flu shots. Work is challenging and you will learn alot in a short period of time. Very supportive of its junior staff to achieve CA certification giving in house training and study leave. A good and clear career path if you are ambitious. Very culturally respective office environment - for example if you don't feel like alcohol, you aren't pushed into drinking it.

Cons

High volume of work can mean long nights. Culture is a hit and miss, and highly depends on your team. Overall very competitive between departments/partners/even staff. Compensation can be on a lower side and less transparent than other Big4. I guess it depends on how well you can negotiate your salary.

Does KPMG have a pension plan?

Pros

Benefits with pension, looks good on your resume/leverage, ability to work from home, structured, opportunity to grow (based on a strict plan)

Cons

You will notice favoritism, a lack of work-life-balance, a lack of inclusiveness in the actual everyday environment—even though due to company policy, they strategically give the illusion of inclusiveness as an emphasized value. It can be a toxic corporate environment, there's a lot of 'sneakiness' that goes on based on consistent word-of-mouth in my experience. Keep in mind that it is not a unionized firm to work for so they could let you go at any point without reason – I've seen good employees disappear. They claim to have a system in-place to avoid being blindsided in suddenly being let go but (based on favouritism); you will be blindsided regardless and they will pay you off – the Labour Board and/or lawyers cannot help you as a result. People who work for KPMG bleed KPMG so do not trust everyone.

Advice to Management

Enforce inclusiveness in all aspects of the work environment. Allow for flexibility instead of just stating it as an attraction to potential candidates. And when you let go of an individual for a reason that isn't malicious on their end or a reason that is solely of your own—give that person the respect they deserve instead of denying them a legitimate explanation for termination – a handshake or something verbalized in regards to respect goes a long way and avoids bad blood and negative word-of-mouth.
