I was referred through a mutual friend. I gave my interest to the mutual friend, who then forwarded my information to the recruiter. Mutual friend gave me insight about the position beforehand. Shift started 7:45 to 5:30, if not later. That there was a ton of work, and putting in more time was the best way to move up from the $40,000 base salary.
The same day I had a preliminary phone interview with the recruiter who asked questions that were a bit invasive. Had a second phone interview that last for about 25 minutes with the same recruiter. Was sent the description of the position, where it explained that despite the position title, it was a sales position with required targets.
Had a second phone interview with the same recruiter. Again, same invasive questions regarding about different positions I applied to. Was also asked questions that seemed to test my potential commitment, rather than my qualifications, although I was asked questions regarding my experience as well.
Since I had already researched the organization, I was already not interested in the position, as using $40,000 as an incentive for people to want to work for this company, was a red flag for me. It is very easy to get tricked into a salary number, as companies like this will take full advantage, as the hours can go over 50 per week. Additionally, the recruiter's questions made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Towards the end of the interview, the recruiter asked if I would prefer to work at a different location as the location I applied at required a car, even though the job description did not state that. At the end, the recruiter stated she would give the information to the hiring manager, but safe to say they will not be following up with my application.
