Here are the most commonly searched roles for interview reports -
Process was as follows:
- Applied online
- Amazon contacted me for an on-site exam
- After exam was given a take-home exercise
- After submitting exercise, contacted 1-2 weeks later for on-site interviews
- After on-site interviews, emailed about a background check
- Call the next day with a verbal offer
The on-site exam was difficult - questions on networking, databases, programming/scripting, linux, windows. The take-home exercise was fun, and required a lot of research and creative thinking about Amazon products. We had two days to complete the report (which had to be approx 2 - 3 pages in length). The on-site interviews were TOUGH, but everyone was so nice and I fell in love with the office and people just being there only a couple of hours.
Some examples of exam questions:
- Reverse DNS
- 3-way handshake
- What is NULL (SQL)
On-site details:
- 1 behavioral interview, 1 technical interview, 1 interview with both
- Behavioral: Tell us about yourself, tell us a time you went above and beyond for a customer, what is your biggest failure in life, tell us about a time you took a calculated risk
- Technical: They will only ask you strong points from your exam. For me that was databases, so writing queries, etc.
- I was also asked to explain my answer from the take-home exercise.

Interview
1 onsite test, 1 take home assignment, 1 onsite interview with 3x People.
Onsite test covers 5 areas, Windows, Linux, Database, Scripting, and Networking.
Take home assignment involved a customer scenario and designing them a solution from Amazon products.
Interview covered your personality, and your skills as shown from the onsite test. They take into account that you most likely won't be strong at all 5 areas.

Mostly Networking questions...
Some questions about OS troubleshooting (Windows and Linux - you can choose one or pick both)....
Some questions on Windows Active Directories, PING, DHCP, TCP vs UDP and also on Linux commands.
It went okay, but they expect you to give more constructive answers instead of just the definition of the term being asked.
