The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Amazon (Seattle, WA) in June 2011
Interview
Impressed that they contact you fairly immediately after your submission of the resume. HR was pleasant but didn't have alot of information. You only get the first name of the person that is interviewing you.
Interviewer: Not alot of personality. Impersonal and doesn't really warm you up for the job. Interested in your excel skills. Really interested. To the point that you might as well be a guru in excel for the job rather than focusing on the skills for the position. Gave the impression that this is a job for kids straight out of a MBA and not for those that have been in the profession for years.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Dublin, Dublin) in Mar 2026
Interview
Very positive experience. The down side was there were 6 rounds of interviews in total but they were scheduled close together. Communication was excellent and a huge amount of helpful resources provided to you to help you prepare.
Phone interview. Asked 4 typical question. The Amazon phone interview was structured and focused on behavioral questions using the STAR method. The interviewer was professional, asking about leadership principles, past challenges, and decision-making. It felt fast-paced yet conversational. I shared clear examples from my experience, highlighted results, and ended confident I demonstrated impact and fit.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time you took ownership of a project.
Describe a situation where you disagreed with a teammate or manager.
Give an example of when you delivered results under tight deadlines.
It was a long but a well designed one. There are tips online that one should go over before the interview process. It can take more than one month to complete the steps, so one should be patient while taking all the tests and other stuff.
