      Area Manager Interview

      11 Nov 2016
      Anonymous employee
      Manchester, England
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Manchester, England) in Nov 2016

      Interview

I applied online, the process took more or less 6+weeks. As mentioned before there are 4 steps: CV screening Numerical Test 18 questions (maths-logical-verbal) Video Interview. There were 11 questions (not sure) but only 6 were actually recorded. Why Amazon, A situation where you were leading a group of people, One on interpersonal skills and how do you build up relationships. Overall average questions, 1 minute to think, 3 minutes to answer. Just few days later I received an invitaiton to go to the final stage. Half day in one of their warehouse. 4 panel interviews (4 different interviewers) and a tour around the warehouse. 4-5 questions each. (no maths exam) The first one is always related on your experience (describe yourself, why you are the right candidate) The second is related with your motivation (why amazon or something similar) After they pick 2 of the leadership principles and they ask you 1-2 questions per principle depending on your answer. Overall really friendly envirnoment compared to other face interviews. I feel like there are few key points to get the job. Ask questions, always come up with strong leadership or decision making examples, show interest, make sure to mention 2-3 of the principles to show that you made your homework, be relaxed (I have seen a lot of stressed candidates, there is no point!). I did the interview just 2 days ago, so I dont know the result.

Prior to even speaking to anyone about a possible interview there was a long and lengthy testing required. Really disappointing to finish with no feedback or additional details. I only received an email post test.

      Interview

Extremely unprofessional in my opinion. Talked to 3 different people, all of whom were wearing old sweatshirts and not looking at the camera. As I was sitting on zoom in a suit jacket, did not feel at all a place I would be valued at.

or an Amazon Level 4 (L4) Area Manager phone interview, you will face 2 to 3 main behavioral questions, alongside a highly possible operational math screening question. Because L4 is typically an entry-level management role (often targeted at recent college graduates or individuals with early-stage leadership experience), the focus shifts heavily toward potential, basic problem-solving, and your ability to lead groups of people
