I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Sept 2018
Interview
I really didn't enjoy the whole process of the interview. I think the recruiter is unprofessional and the interview is a waste of my time.
My friend referred me. One recruiter contacted me a few days later. She asked me about my availability of the next two weeks. So I arranged my schedule and gave her several time slots that work for me.
But then she sent me an online assessment a couple hours later and asked me to finish within a week. I was a little confused - why you asked about my availability and then gave me an online test? But at this point, I just finished the online test. It's 2 hours long. It's not a small time investment. All my test cases passed for the two questions and I submitted on time.
The recruiter then disappeared. Finally, I emailed her asking about how the review process goes. She replied with a template saying they've moved on with other candidates. She has been using all kinds of templates throughout the whole process. I don't feel I was talking to a real person tbh. I haven't spoken with any real person at all during the whole process.
This is a really poor experience. I don't recommend people waste time to interview with Amazon.
