I had a :30 call with the hiring manager, which went great. Then another with a person that would be my peer that also went very well. Then the gauntlet of the all day zoom interview, which I spent DAYS prepping for (lots of info online to help there). A completely exhausting day, which was the point, in part, and I felt those went well, too, but no offer &, per Amazon policy, no feedback, so no idea why. The weird part of the process was HR. There was an email with boiler plate questions like salary expectations, relo, etc. after the first phone interview went well. Then a conversation with a Jr. HR person after the first phone interview which was more to tell me about the process. Then a call with HR before the Gauntlet day. That one was very odd. She essentially read from an email about what to expect on that day (she sent the email to me after the call). There was no real dialogue - just her telling me over the phone what the email stated. It was very odd. Then the other HR person confirming the salary, relo, etc. that they had emailed me about earlier. I have no idea if it's true, but my sense, as a candidate, is that HR is handcuffed & is instructed to stick to the script at ALL times. Period. This was even true when they told me that an offer would not be forthcoming - I asked a question & she just repeated what she already said. While my conversations with the team were all positive, the process feels VERY 1-sided in Amazon's favor with zero feedback opportunity after having spent a TON of time prepping for their unique process.
