I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon in Sept 2011
Interview
Three Phone Interviews (Initial Recruitment, HR, Technical) as well as two technical assignments: Configure an AMI as a Web Server (using security groups etc) followed by the development of a solution architecture specification addressing a fictitious organizations concerns about cloud computing utilizing AWS services.
Taking an entrire weekend to prepare the response to the latter two practical based activities, and then to get a 'Dear Sir/Madam..thanks but no thanks' was quite galling. Elitist snobs in my opinion.I sincerely hope that the dozens of Chinese they on-board are subject to the same rigor.
