I was an internal hire employed for nearly 2 years at the site before being promoted into a permanent L3 role (HR). Entire process took about 3 weeks in total. 3 L5s conducting the interview in person. Each asked 2 questions. Must answer in the STAR format (situation, task, action, result) for all answers. 1 interview consisting of 5 questions beginning mostly with, “tell me about a time..”

Mostly Star based Behavioral Questions focused on focused on their 16 Leadership Principles. The process typically involves an initial phone screen, followed by a 2-3 interviews with different team members and with a strong emphasis on behavioral questions using the STAR method

Interview
Very structured STAR format questions. Make sure to study and practice with others. Some will add technical or math questions that throw you off, doesn't matter if you're right or wrong just how you came to your answer.
Very detailed and thorough. Please review leadership principles before interview. Leadership principles are very important to know. You'll have to access your knowledge of Amazon's leadership principles to complete scenarios.
