Interview
Horrible interview.
While I understand that each interviewer has their own style, I believe it's important to bring attention to aspects of the interview that left me with a less-than-ideal experience.
Throughout the interview, I encountered challenges with the interviewer's communication style. There were instances where I felt they were exceptionally brusque, often not allowing me to complete my responses. This made it difficult for me to articulate my thoughts effectively and resulted in a slower response time, to which they displayed limited patience.
Moreover, the interviewer left the meeting twice, citing reasons such as a production issue and a relative's difficulty in finding the correct street address for an Uber pickup. While I understand unforeseen circumstances, these interruptions did impact the flow of the interview and added to the overall challenge of the experience.
Furthermore, the interviewer expressed concerns about the professional language used in my responses. While I acknowledge the importance of professionalism, I found their insistence on this aspect to be somewhat disproportionate. They went so far as to question the integrity of my responses, alleging cheating, which I believe was unfounded and created unnecessary tension during the interview.
In spite of their feedback, the interviewer did acknowledge my technical knowledge. However, their focus on language and the accusation of cheating left me questioning the evaluation criteria and the overall interview process.
Talk about a time when you had to deliver something in a tight deadline, how did you manage? What are the challenges you faced and what sacrifices you had to make?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Amazon (Bellevue, WA) in Jan 2025
