I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Erlanger, KY)
Interview
This was the hardest interview I ever had. It was a 6 person interview. Over an hour each one and lasted 3 days. Additionally, I was offered a lessor position rather than the position I actually applied too. The pay was confusing. Base pay plus stock options added. For those of you that dont know, bonus stock options get taxed capital gains tax if taken out less than 12 months. This means if you are offered 30k stock options as part of your pay, you are locked in for 12 months or you pay over 37% tax. Not only was the pay ineffecient being demoted after such a difficult interview process was a big negative.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Brisbane) in Aug 2025
Interview
The interview process was very structured and transparent. It started with a recruiter call where they explained the steps, shared resources, and emphasised Amazon’s Leadership Principles. The first interview was a one-hour virtual session via Amazon Chime with an RME Area Manager, focused on my maintenance experience, leadership style, and how I’ve applied the Leadership Principles in real situations using the STAR method.
I was then invited to a final virtual onsite loop with four one-hour interviews over two days, each with a different Amazon leader (RME Manager, HR Business Partner, Operations Manager, and Area Manager). Every interviewer focused on different Leadership Principles, asking behavioural questions such as how I improved reliability, handled safety issues, or influenced others. There were no trick or technical tests — just clear, structured questions that assessed decision-making and ownership.
Overall, the experience was professional and respectful. The recruiters kept me well-informed, the interviewers were friendly, and the process genuinely tested leadership, communication, and problem-solving ability. My advice: study the Leadership Principles, prepare data-backed STAR examples, and be authentic about your experiences.
Effettuato colloquio tramite agenzia, fortunato per aver avuto un ottimo HR. Ottimi propositi per iniziare nuova avventura, peccato per la distanza . Ottimi benefit aziendali, peccato per la distanza .
