I was already working for the company in another role. I got tapped on the shoulder by a manager to speak with various heads of the department. I didn't think I did very well but I am someone who is keen to learn and quick to pick up so they thought I was suitable for the role.

mostly on your experience and your competency.
Some questions were repetitive. Took a few weeks in total. HR quite responsive. But feel like the whole process can be a bit faster.

Typically starts with coding assesement, then interview round for python, sql, pandas, guesstimates, resume based question comes. Then some questions on Data Science, machine learning, deep learning, hyperparameters, loss functions.
There are total 3 rounds of interview (phone interview with the HR, face to face interview with the line manager and the department head)
