1) Tests - numerical, verbal and personality. The test was about an hour long and some questions were quite difficult.
2) Video interview - about half an hour long... a few questions about why Amex and a technical question. Also a coding exercise.
3) Assessment Centre - brilliant experience. Overnight accommodation in Brighton provided, as well as an evening meal the night before. You're plowed with food and drinks from the Amex cafeteria throughout the day. The assessments included - 1) A technical interview based in Java, however, they do appreciate different backgrounds. The assessment was more based on how you communicate your working and how your line of throught works. 2) A competency based interview which ended in an open-ended scenario. There is no correct answer, again, the assessment is more based on how you think. 3) Group exercise - really, really fun. It's probably the best group exercise I've experienced in an AC. I don't want to give it away, just remember to collaborate and communicate.
They said we'd hear back the next day by phone and they were true to their word.
