I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Atlassian in July 2019
Interview
The phone interview went well, the recruiter was nice and very responsive to emails up until this point.
After the phone interview, I was sent a writing exercise that had a deadline of 3-4 days. I completed the exercise in the time frame and didn't hear back, not even a email confirming they received it. I followed up 2 weeks later and got an email that told me they were in the late stages of hiring for the role with a couple candidates.
Basically, I did the writing exercise for nothing, no one looked at it, and they didn't even bother to tell me. Time is not free, especially in this day and age, and I spent most of my free time that weekend working on the exercise. Rude and unprofessional.

Interview
After submitting my content design portfolio I was invited to a Portfolio Deep-Dive (going through 2-3 of my projects and explaining the process) and a Values interview (involved questions about what I would do in specific settings etc.).

Question 1
Name a time when you had to give some negative feedback. How did you go about it?
I applied for a position that was shortly put on hold due to the economy. Despite being a huge company, the recruiter for this role still managed to reach out to me and offered to set up time to connect about potential future openings. I've never had a recruiter offer their time in such a way, despite the position being on hold. Kudos to the recruiting team at Atlassian.
