I applied online. I interviewed at Atlassian (Sydney)

      Interview

I had six interviews, and after each one, I received no feedback on why they were progressing me to the next one or what I needed to demonstrate more of. After a very drawn-out process, I was ultimately rejected. I don't think the interviewers had seen my CV or understood my experience; they were following a script of questions, and some did not seem interested in talking to me.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Atlassian (Sydney) in Feb 2022

      Interview

The HR experience and screening interview was great and pleasant. Overall communication with HR and scheduling team was great. The second interview was with two interviewers. One was ok and mostly in the background. The second who was leading the interview left a verry bad impression: was late, not prepared and looked like had other things in his head. Not a single smile on his face. The questions were vague and too broad instead targeted to evaluate certain skils. I was not surprised with not getting through to the next round.

      Software Engineering Manager Interview

      Application

The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Atlassian (New York, NY)

      Interview

I was referred to Atlassian by a former coworker and a recruiter promptly contacted me. We went over several open positions that seemed like they'd be a fit and settled on one to initially pursue. A couple weeks went by and I reached out twice only to get no response. A couple more weeks went by and I reached out again to ask if the position was still open and if not if we could discuss other open positions. I finally got a response then and was able to arrange for a first round interview. No information about the format or number of rounds was given but they did sent quality documentation over about the company and culture, all of which I went through in preparation for the interviews. The interview itself went well, even running past the scheduled end time. The interviewer commended me multiple times on my answers and the whole experience was very conversational. The recruiter I'd been in contact with said he'd have feedback on any next steps within 24-48 hours. A week went by and I emailed him for an update and reiterated my interest in the position. No response. Another week went by so I reached out to the coordinator who set the interview up and was told they'd see if they could some feedback. Later that day I received a generic rejection letter from Atlassian recruiting (not the recruiter I'd been in contact with) saying they went with other candidates. Overall, it took a little over 2 months of chasing them down trying to arrange an interview only to go through one 45 minute phone call to get a generic rejection letter. This was by far one of the most frustrating experiences I've ever had as a candidate as I loved Atlassian's values and what I learned about its culture, but it seems now the process is over without any discussion about other open roles (other than the blurb in the generic letter about them reaching out in the future if they think there's a fit). Given the amount of times I had to chase them down, I find this unlikely.
