The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Bain & Company (Dubai) in July 2022
Interview
Case Interviews: In the first round, you typically undergo two case interviews. Each case interview lasts about 45 minutes and involves analyzing a business problem. You need to demonstrate your ability to structure your thoughts, perform quantitative analysis, and provide a logical recommendation.
Example Case: You might be asked to analyze the market entry strategy for a new product or diagnose the reasons for declining profitability in a company.
Fit/Behavioral Interviews: These interviews focus on your past experiences, leadership qualities, and motivations for joining Bain. You might be asked about a time when you led a team, dealt with a challenging situation, or demonstrated initiative.
Partner/Principal Interviews: Interviews with senior partners or principals are common in the final round. These interviews assess your long-term career goals, understanding of the consulting industry, and fit with Bain’s culture and values.
Group Exercises: Some offices may include group exercises where you work with other candidates to solve a business problem. This evaluates your teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Typical case interview and behavioral questions. E.g. how the overall profit could increase?
Ghosted by HR for Malaysia office after interviewing 3 rounds. Interviewed by associate, senior associate and partner. Typical consulting case questions. Not too difficult and employees were relatively personable. Would've appreciated better communication from the HR team instead of simple ghosting. do better
I applied online and got a online assessment after ~1 week. I completed the online test but I haven't heard back since then. The timeline is a bit uncertain to me.
First round case interviews. Got standard questions about profitability and market entry. IMO the most difficult part was reading complex charts and distilling the key insights with time pressure. There was little behavioral.
