I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One in May 2018
Interview
The HR screening call, pretty informal, then Hackerrank coding questions, all very easy and straight-forward. After that, the technical phone interview, which is awful. The manager on the other end of the phone sounded very intense, unfriendly at all, and failed to clarify questions effectively--basically just repeated questions again and again without any helpful hints. I ended up with a feeling that even if I was given an offer, I would not want to work for him. The best part of this interview process was the HR, very friendly and helpful.

Question 1
None statistical questions. Only one case study which has 10 follow-up questions on machine learning, data processing, and potential issues with data.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Capital One (Dallas, TX) in Jan 2026
Interview
I had an interview with the hiring manager, and she started to ask about my CV and went through the details of each project, and also asked additional questions about each project, what would happen if we do this or that
The recruiter call me and after a 30 min meeting with HR they set me up for interview with the manager, but no one showed up and they never responded my email
Two technical rounds with case studies and coding + SQL. Coding was just LC easy level and SQL was a bit more challenging but being comfortable with all the key words should be good enough.
