      Finance Manager Interview

      28 Mar 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Tysons Corner, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One (Tysons Corner, VA) in Oct 2023

      Interview

Started with a screening by the recruiter. After you pass that, you do an online exam. If you also pass that, you make it 3 round, 1-hour interviews where they ask you typical case interview questions. Each 1-hour interview is one case with 3 parts. Although I thought the recruiter was great, I did not like any of the 3 individuals who did the hour-long interviews.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Capital One in Feb 2017

      Interview

The company has a strict recruiting process, which is very efficient. First, you need to take an exam, and based on those results, there is telephone interview before you start the real interview process, for which there are cases and exercises to solve. I found the phone interviewer to be disinterested and mechanical in her interaction, which was not pleasant after sitting through a 90 minutes test. I do appreciate that they were very fast in communicating the result and following through. It looked like a good person, but I felt I wasted too much effort.

During the case studies they are looking for specific answers. Be ready to use your creative thinking skills to find alternative solutions in case they keep probing for different answers.
