I applied through university. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Deloitte (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2012
Interview
We came in for a dinner on a Thursday. Everyone who was interviewing experienced and college candidates meet together for the dinner. The dinner was very intimidating with all levels because it was not mentioned that experienced candidates were going to be present. Originally I thought that everyone was applying for the same position. The next day Friday, the group was divided and campus candidates were together for a presentation. After the presentation we interviewed with two managers. The day of the interview was about 2 hours long.
It was an on campus placement interview, they mostly asked about my CV and personal achievements. Some questions were regarding basics of accounting like principles of accounting and treatment of depreciation and other items in all 3 statements.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
about my prior internship experience and how i developed myself through it.
5 rounds of interview - 1 HR, 2 technical, 1 Versant (english understanding and communication) & 1 Partner. Partner round can be technical or general depending upon your partner. Questions can range from "why audit" to core accounting and auditing questions
the interview was very conversational. entry level position is not technical at all but you should bring in experience anyways. didn’t get the position but interviewers seemed very laid back and were probably taking the interview from their phone
