I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Emerson (Boulder, CO) in Feb 2011
Interview
This was most the brainless, unorganized interviewing process I have ever experienced.
- 11 separate interviews
- eight hour session with an Industrial psychologist,
- trip to the corporate office in Minnesota, in which I had to pay out of my own pocket and it took two months to get reimbursed.
Not one of the people conducting the interviews had a clue about the career position requirements. Most of the employees are homegrown, and resist any new blood or change. The icing on the cake is when I meet with a VP in the corporate office, and the first words out of his condescending mouth was “my you are dressed very nice for this job” In closing I was informed “we feel that you are overconfident” get real a meek Quality Manager – no offer.
