I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Emerson (Houston, TX) in Nov 2014
Interview
I went through a headhunting company. Received my first interview with one employee and it went well. Called me for a second interview at their location. Interviewed by four employees at the same time. It was pretty relaxed; they all were really nice. They asked many questions in fast succession about various skills/scenarios. After the interview, I was shown around the facilities.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Emerson (Logan Township, NJ) in Nov 2014
Interview
I met the manager at a Veteran Hiring Fair. Although I had no industrial experience, my manager misread my resume entry of "Sonar Technician," and focused only on the work 'technician.' I received a phone call after a month, asking me to come in for an interview. The interview took place at the Bridgeport facility.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Emerson in Oct 2011
Interview
I found the hiring manager and the shop manager to be very congenial and the atmosphere very friendly. Great opportunity that I was disappointed not to be selected for. Seems to be an excellent workplace. I am certain that I did not sell myself well, focused to much on being friendly and easy going and not enough on skills.
