I applied through university. I interviewed at Fast Enterprises (Denver, CO) in Oct 2020
Interview
First Interview was easy. Standard behavioral questions, a few technical questions and a coding question asking to find all prime numbers and print them out.
Second Interview was longer. Half the time was spent with the interviewer continuously asking me if I had any questions. I asked about 15 questions. There was a 'brainteaser ' quiz which was you standard mensa iq type questions. I got a 28/30 on it. Then they asked some logic questions which were meant to trip you up but I got 2/3 of them without any assistance from the interviewer.
Overall, i'm surprised I didn't get the position considering how well I did and how much interest they showed initially. Got a very short email about a week later saying they won't be moving forward. Maybe I was too technical for a position. My final interviewer didn't know what a design pattern was when I was trying to describe one of my OOP projects despite another interviewer asking me about inheritance (an OOP concept) in the previous interview.
Red Flags Upfront:
Are you willing to work overtime?(Things I've read online about FAST say 60-70 hours a week is pretty normal)
Are you willing to relocate every 2-3 years?(They basically want you to overwork yourself in different locations for their different clients)
The implementation consultants don't have much cs knowledge. When I asked what VCS they use they didn't bring up git but rather some outdated system that sounded like it had very limited features
If a client says you did something wrong what would you do to correct it?(Basically a test to see if you'd go out of your way and work overtime to please the client)
It was a very quick process. I recieved a reply back within first two days of applying and scheduled a phone screening within a week from the email. Recuriter asked pretty average questions.
