I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at GE (Minnetonka, MN) in June 2012
Interview
My resume was posted on a local HR database and selected by the HR manager at GE. I was initially contacted by phone and selected for group interviews and plant tour based on the results of the phone screening. All the people involved in the interviewing process were very professional and prepared. I was given a plant tour then interviewed by two teams of two people during back-to-back interviews. I spent 2.5 hours at their facility. I was told I would be informed of the outcome within a week; exactly 1 week later I received a phone call thanking me for my interest but letting me know they didn't see me a the best fit for the position they were filling; they also encouraged me to keep an eye on their posting board and to reapply if I saw any additional jobs I would be interested in.
