My experience interviewing for the summer internship program at Goldman Sachs was ultimately quite disappointing. The process involved several back-to-back interviews all scheduled on the same day, which made for a long and fairly exhausting experience without much opportunity to reset between meetings. There was little communication upfront about what the process would look like—no clear outline of how many interviews to expect or how the day would be structured—which added to the uncertainty. While water was eventually offered during the fifth interview, it would have been appreciated earlier given the length and intensity of the day. After completing five interviews, I was left waiting alone in a room for around 30 minutes without any updates, before being sent home without clarity on next steps. A few days later, I received a standard rejection email with no detailed feedback. Overall, the experience felt somewhat disorganized and impersonal. While the firm’s reputation is strong, the interview process could be improved with clearer communication, better pacing, and a more candidate-focused approach.
