I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (New York, NY) in Jan 2011
Interview
I am at the beginning of the interview process. I applied online and was selected for a phone interview. I talked to the engineering manager. I was asked about my previous experience + what is OOD + what is mutex and if i ever used it + 1 algorithm question. I am selected for a 2nd phone interview. Not sure what that will consist of... To be continued.
One of the most awkward phone/coding interviews I've had in a while. The interviewer was not really interested in conducting the interview. He wasted about 15 mins either talking to others in the background or asking me to run the same cases over and over again even though my program was giving the right answer. There were long periods of awkward silence in between. I could also hear laughter once in a while.
I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Goldman Sachs (Salt Lake City, UT) in Oct 2013
Interview
Interview process was smooth. Starting round were to check if I will fit in their work culture, then the technical round was mainly focused on algorithms and coding. It was a pretty straight forward interview process, but it takes time.
