Interview and hiring process took a while but it was worth it. Started talking with Google recruiter in October 2020. First position was eliminated before I had a chance to interview. Second position went to an internal hire again before I could interview. I stayed in touch with the recruiter. Finally got to interview with a hiring manager for a third position in December 2020. That initial call went well but because of the upcoming holiday I didn’t have my, what is typically called onsite, interviews until sometime in Jan 2021. I spoke with 4 people between Jan and March. 2 full 45 minute interviews, one 30 minute chat and another 15 minute call. The calls kept leveling up. Because I was the first to be interviewed for the position (I think) I had to wait for them to do their due diligence and and interview other candidates. Finally got an offer in March. Went through some rounds of negotiations and will finally start sometime in April 2021. Long process but the recruiter was top notch. Always communicated effectively and let me know where I stood in the process. Kept that same positive energy throughout negotiations. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out.
