I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Google (Mountain View, CA) in July 2024
Interview
Had preliminary interview then 3 more over the span of about a month - supposed to be 2 technical and 1 non-technical (cover teamwork, leadership, etc.) but all 3 ended up being technical? For context, role was entry level listed as 0-2 years of experience and I have 2 years of experience in a different role but easily transferable skill set and very similar job responsibilities. First interviewer was most strict, seemed to be looking for very specific answers to questions and pushed me to answer questions I told them I had no experience with. Questions were very narrow and seemed directed around topics that someone with much more experience in the field would know. Second and third interviewers were much nicer and genuinely seemed to like me, also asked very technical questions and also dug for answers but were more open to re directing when I said I had no experience with something. Recruiter called me a few days after the final interview to let me know they decided not to continue with me and mentioned it was “purely based on the interviews” - is that good or bad?
