I applied online. I interviewed at H&M (Melbourne) in July 2016
Interview
I applied online and got an email with an invitation to a group interview.
At the interview there was 12 of us in total and we sat in circle.
We were first paired up and asked to find one interesting fact on your partner and present it to the rest of the group.
After that we were given 1 list of situations we may face when working and had to come up with a solution as a group.
The next activity was a role play where we had to set up a store front and hang clothes up whilst others pretended to be costumers and asked us questions (e.g. Do you accept credit cards?). There was a time limit and we had to communicate and work as a team.
The last part of the interview was giving feedback to the person to our right. Which included 1 thing they did well and 1 thing they can improve on. They did this because feedback is very important to them.
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
What would you do if a customer wanted to use the staff bathrooms?
Group interview where we played out around four or five different scenarios. Testing how you would overcome certain challenges as well as your creativity and flare for fashion. We found out if we had the job later in the day by email.
A group interview in their assessment center with about 15 girls overall present and we had to do several different activities to clear the interview.
3 managers were present for the interview.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at H&M (Sydney) in May 2017
Interview
It was a group interview with about 7-8 people. Before walking in, our group used the opportunity to talk to each other and become acquainted, that way the interview became less nerve-wracking for all of us. First, we had to watch a video about H&M and comment on it as a group. Then we sat in a circle and discussed various scenarios as a group and how we would solve them if there were no managers present at the store. The last stage was more practical. We had to set up a mini store and had 5 minutes to work as a team to set up a store front, placing clothes on the front table by following an outfit guide they gave us and placing clothes on railings at the back.
All in all, it was a very great experience. It was my first time doing a group interview so I didn't know what to expect, but it was a lot less nerve-wracking than I thought.

Question 1
What can you do to maximise the customer's experience in the store?
The store is closing in 5 minutes, you have 5 rails of clothing to sort out, but customers walked in asking for help with sizes and styling. What do you do?
