I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at H&M (Toronto, ON) in June 2010
Interview
Unnecessarily long interview process that most other sales advisors did not have:
- Short one-on-one interview at the Eaton's Centre during a Job Fair day
- A week or so later, group interview at their Queen Street West location: in an upstairs meeting room with ten or so other associates taking part in ridiculous group activities (rummaging through clothes to put together thematic sets, stacking coloured boxes to represent window displays)
- An interview at the store I desired to work at, a week after, with a Department Manager and then a second interview a few days after that with the Store Manager, both of these being traditional sit-down interviews (reviewing my resume, discussing previous experience)
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No difficult questions, the one-on-one interviews were very traditional
The group interview required us performing tasks involving crates of clothes and coloured boxes with graphics representing the components of a store display
I applied online. I interviewed at H&M (Dundalk) in Mar 2026
Interview
It was lovely, very interactive. Getting to meet new people, seeing the H&M store was really nice. The supervisor was really professional and warm. First we got to know each other, then did a question and answers round with everyone, situation based, customer service based, questions to display your skills etc, talking about H&M values and then we had a group task, to come with a outfit based on the provided situation.
I applied online. I interviewed at H&M (Brighton, England) in Jan 2026
Interview
Group interview, asked us questions like what's our hobbies and why do we want to work at H&M. We then had to work in pairs to choose the importance of certain scenarios that we may come across. We then were given a scenario in a group and had to go around the shop and choose an outfit suitable for that scenario. We ended the interview being asked two random questions about the brand or anything in general.
